Keep an “already done” list. Not that you still won’t have things to do, naturally, but the author of the article at the Guardian cites a book on work productivity about celebrating small victories that incite people to keep going. It’s something I know about as a boss; we have a board in the break room and we have little signs that we use to thank people for doing various things, some silly, some not– but we try to keep it full and celebrate everyone in the store for at least something over the course of the month. I just never think to do it for myself.
Maybe it’s time to buy a white board. And some sparkly markers. Because hey– things accomplished deserve sparkles, right?
