Rattle and moan

It’s windy and cold in the darkened living room, and the heat is blasting every 15 minutes, even though it’s only set to 60 overnight. Our old wooden sash-and-counterweight windows are rattling away in their frames, and the wind is moaning like a horror movie. I can feel the cold seeping in the windows, despite my pyjamas, robe, and quilt to keep me warm, as I surf the web during my mid-night insomnia.

We have incredible winds here on the prairie. Some nights it sounds like someone walking on the roof. Hope you got some rest.
